Meade King LLP is a commercial law firm and we are looking for full-time experienced paralegals to work in our corporate and commercial team.
It’s a very busy team with many prestigious Bristol, South-West and National clients. You’ll be working in our niche, nationwide practice acting for healthcare professionals in their business dealings. This includes all related commercial and regulatory work, including relationships with regulatory bodies such as the NHS and CQC.
The team is growing, and the right candidates could be offered a training contract in the future. All recent trainee solicitors have been recruited from the paralegals already working for us.
Who We Are Looking For
• Have experience as a paralegal or similar legal assistant in a corporate or commercial department
• Be a current part-time (weekends or evenings) LPC, LLB or GDL student or:
• Be an LPC, LLB or GDL graduate
• Have a good academic background in law and:
• Have an interest in corporate and commercial law
We’d like it if you’ve completed or are doing the relevant LPC modules.
What You Will Be Doing
You’ll be exposed to a wide variety of legal work such as due diligence, drafting, organising and managing documents, legal research and be involved in every aspect of the sale, purchase and funding of businesses or companies.
You’ll therefore have good exposure to clients and be working directly with partners and other
solicitors in the team as well as other departments such as our commercial property team.
You’ll need great communication skills as you’ll be dealing with people on the telephone, by email and by letter and be expected to take an active role in the management and organisation of your department’s workload.
Dependent on your experience, the starting salary will be £17,500 per annum, though there is flexibility of an increase for candidates with extensive direct relevant experience.
You will have a six month probationary period, after which we may review your salary. We offer good benefits to our staff including cycle to work and Tax-Free Childcare schemes, and we operate with flexible hours and where appropriate, some staff spend some of their working time at home.
To find out more and to apply, please send your CV and a covering letter explaining your suitability for this role to Anna Travers-Rose on firstname.lastname@example.org
Deadline for applying: 30th September.
We look forward to hearing from you.
