Meade King LLP is a leading Bristol commercial law firm and we are looking for full-time paralegals to work in our corporate and commercial team.
It’s a very busy team with many prestigious Bristol, South-West and National clients. You’ll be working in our niche, nationwide practice acting for healthcare professionals in their business dealings. This includes all related commercial and regulatory work, including relationships with regulatory bodies such as the NHS and CQC.
The team is growing, and the right candidates could be offered a training contract in the future. All recent trainee solicitors have been recruited from the paralegals already working for us.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get real legal experience in a fast paced environment, with exposure to many different areas of law.
Who We Are Looking For
You must either:
• Be a current part-time (weekends or evenings) LPC, LLB or
• Be an LPC, LLB or GDL graduate
• Have a good academic background in law
• Have an interest in corporate and commercial law. We’d like it
if you’ve completed or are doing the relevant LPC modules
• Have experience working as a paralegal in a similar role
What You Will Be Doing
You’ll be exposed to a wide variety of legal work such as due diligence, drafting, organising and managing documents, legal research and be involved in every aspect of the sale, purchase and funding of businesses or companies. You’ll therefore have good exposure to clients. and be working directly with partners and other solicitors in the team as well as other departments such as our commercial property team.
You’ll need great communication skills as you’ll be dealing with people on the telephone, by email and by letter and be expected to take an active role in the management and organisation of your department’s workload.
Your starting salary will be £17,500 at least (or higher depending on experience) and you’ll have a six-month probationary period, after which we may review your salary.
