In a case when the employer had instructed us to settle the high value claims and allegations of an employee who had been on long term sick leave.
The employee was claiming disability discrimination due to a back injury and a requirement that she drive as part of her sales role. Our attention to detail and instinct led us to make specific enquiries that proved that the employee had been in a skiing lodge in France for several months, including during her grievance procedure.
We immediately renegotiated the employer’s deal and the employee left with little more than an agreed factual reference under the terms of the arrangement. This represented a saving to our client of £54,000.
