Meade King Tests Their Sea Legs Dragon Boat Racing

Latest news

A team of 16 intrepid members of staff are testing the waters (actually, hopefully not testing the water!) of Bristol Docks on Saturday 2 September when they compete against other teams in a Dragon Boat Festival.

The event runs from 10am to 5pm and alongside the Dragon Boat racing there'll be Asian Street food, including Desy Thai and Indian Masala, along with tea, coffee and ice cream. Due to the event taking place right outside the Cottage Inn, there is plenty of opportunity to have a couple of drinks throughout the day.

On top of the food and drink, there'll be a hook a duck stall, glitter tattoos, a pound stall, sweets, cakes and a raffle, among others, to help raise some more money for great charities.

We're focusing on raising money for Children's Hospice South West, as they are our Charity of the Year. They do amazing work with families who have children with life limiting conditions, so we want to raise as much as possible to help them continue this brilliant work.

Any amount you can sponsor us would be great. You can do this on our JustGiving Page and with every donation, we'll let you suggest how the team dress on the day, with the biggest donation deciding our fate, so you can make us look funny for money.

Please let us have your ideas by 30 August (so we have enough time to shop on Amazon Prime!) and we promise to take some photos as proof.

Don't forget to come along on the day as it's going to be a great day out and it's completely free to attend. You can find the Dragon Boats on Baltic Wharf, just off Cumberland Road. Simply find the Cottage Inn, and it's right outside.

Here's the sponsorship page again, and email sue@meadeking.co.uk with your fancy dress suggestions after making your donation.
