We’ve had a great year raising money for our Charity of the Year for 2017, Children’s Hospice South West and we’re delighted with the amount we raised, £5,139.
We’ve done all sorts from bake offs, dress down days, guessing whose pet belongs to who and various sweepstakes on Wimbledon and the Eurovision song contest.
Along with all of the small things we’ve been doing to raise money, we’ve also taken part in some organised events.
We got muddy running the Monster Race and well beaten by every other team in the Dragon Boat racing.
Some of the staff ran the Bristol 10k race and we also held our Annual Charity Quiz night at Totos Wine Bar, which was a great success.
One of the best parts of partnering with Children’s Hospice South West was getting the opportunity to meet with Arthur, Evangeline and his parents Melanie and Marcelo.
They told us how much they appreciate the help and support they are given from CHSW. Arthur has many additional needs and the whole family love to go to for a break at the hospice, knowing that Arthur is safe and looked after and can have some time together as a family without having to ‘do’ the care part.
After meeting with lovely Arthur and his family, a team of 5 of us went and volunteered for the day at the hospice during changeover day. We helped out by weatherproofing all the outdoor furniture at the hospice so the families could enjoy the outdoor space.
We were all really moved by the tour round the hospice and it really brought to life the impact of our financial support for the families that use the facility.
We’ve really enjoyed out year raising money with Children’s Hospice South West and we’re delighted to be handing over £5,139 to support children with life limiting conditions and their families.
