Charlotte has been completely professional, highly diligent and extremely patient…

We are in the process of moving home and would have no hesitation in asking Charlotte to act for us in this matter.

One of the reasons I chose to go with Meade King was after speaking to several other solicitors and then speaking to Charlotte it was refreshing to have someone able to convey what they needed to say without taking half an hour to get to the point!

Residential Conveyancing

When you are buying, selling or re-mortgaging your home, our conveyancing team want to make sure that all goes smoothly. We want you to be clear about your options and feel confident that timescales will be met.

Our conveyancing lawyers understand that straightforward and swift communication is essential so that you know what is happening at every stage of the purchase or sale of your property.

 As qualified residential conveyancing specialists, we offer a range of services including;

  • residential conveyancing if you're buying or selling
  • transfers of equity
  • re-mortgaging
  • conveyancing for new build properties
  • conveyancing for leasehold flats

We are on mortgage lenders' panels which means that we can act for both you and your lender, which tends to speed things up and keep costs down.

You can find more about buying and selling a property on our specific pages or see our Guide To Buying or Selling a Property

Remember that you must factor in Stamp Duty (SDLT) to your purchase too. Use the Stamp Duty Land Tax Calculator on GOV.UK if you are buying in England or the Welsh Government website if you’re buying in Wales so you know how much you'll have to pay.

If you are new to buying or selling a property, you might find there are lots of words that you're not sure of. To help you out, we've pulled together a list of common words, phrases and jargon used in the conveyancing process. You can read them here.

Conveyancing Quality

We are also proud to be members of the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) which is awarded to firms that demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and client satisfaction.

Our expert team will ensure that all the legal aspects are properly looked into, giving you genuine peace of mind. Our experience in residential conveyancing means that we are well aware of the pitfalls that can potentially hold up the process, and will do all that we can to prepare for these.

You can be confident that we will provide a high quality, personal service so that you always feel looked after during what can be a stressful time.

We have long established links with other professionals in the property market and can put you in touch with surveyors, estate agents, independent financial advisors and mortgage brokers.

Fixed Fees

We are clear and transparent about cost and will let you know at the beginning how much the legal fees will be for your house purchase or sale. These costs are fixed and only in very unusual circumstances will our quoted fees change.
